Standing on the southern side of the city, Louisville International Airport (SDF) is conveniently located at the intersection of I-65 and I-264 (Henry Watterson Expressway) interstates, and is easily accessible from local streets around the area. Other prominent roads close to Louisville Airport include the I-265 interstate (Gene Snyder Freeway) to the south, and the I-64 to the east.

Directly north of Louisville Airport you will find the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center and Audubon Park, close to Parkway Village and the city's university campus. To the east of the airport, Lynnview lies off the Preston Highway, while the Louisville Ford Assembly Plant is sited directly south.
